Hello everyone and welcome back to Mindful Moments with Miss Harrison. I'm Miss Harrison and I'm so happy you're here for another episode in our Mindfulness and Relaxation series. Last time we explored mindful listening, how tuning in to the sounds around us can help us feel calm and focused. Did you try your mindful moment challenge this week? I hope you discovered some new sounds you hadn't noticed before.

Today we're going to talk about something really special, creating a calm space. This is a place where you can relax, take deep breaths and feel peaceful whenever you need to. By the end of this episode you'll have ideas for building your very own calm space. Let's begin. Have you ever had a moment where you just needed a little break? Maybe your day felt too busy, too loud or just a little overwhelming. That's when a calm space can really help. A calm space is a special spot where you can go to relax, breathe and feel safe. It can be anywhere, your bedroom, a quiet corner or even a cozy chair. The important thing is that it's a place where you feel comfortable and peaceful. Having a calm space helps us reset our minds and bodies just like deep breathing or mindful movement. Now let's hear one girl who created her own calm space at home.

Let's hear a story about a girl named Sophia who discovered the magic of a calm space. Sophia loved playing with her little brother, but sometimes she just needed a break from all the noise and excitement. One day she told her mum, I just need a place to breathe. Her mum smiled and said, why don't we make a special place just for you? Together they found a small corner in Sophia's room. They added a soft blanket, a pillow and some fairy lights. Sophia placed a few of her favourite books there and a small jar filled with things that she loved. Smooth stones, a tiny teddy and a drawing from her best friend. That night when she felt a little overwhelmed, she went to her cosy corner, held up with her blanket and took a deep breath. She felt so much better. Her calm space became her favorite place to relax whenever she needed a moment of peace. What do you think Sophia learned about creating a calm space?

Just like Sophia, you can make your very own calm space. Here are three simple steps to get started. First, you'll need to find a quiet spot. Choose a place where you feel comfortable. It can be a small corner, a chair or even a special space outside in nature. Next, add all the things that make you feel safe and happy. Maybe a soft blanket, a favourite stuffed animal, a calming picture or even a small plant. Anything that helps you feel peaceful. Finally, use your calm space whenever you need it. Whenever you feel overwhelmed, sad or just need a break, go to your calm space, take deep breaths, read a book or just sit quietly and relax. Let's take a moment to imagine your favourite calm space. Close your eyes if you'd like. Picture a quiet, peaceful place just for you.

What does it look like? Is it warm and cozy or cool and refreshing? Now think about what's inside your calm space. Is there a soft pillow, a favourite toy, maybe a tiny light that glows? Take a deep breath in and out. Imagine yourself sitting in your calm space, feeling peaceful and safe. Now when you're ready, open your eyes. How did that feel? You've done an amazing job today learning about creating a calm space.

Remember, your calm space is just for you, a place where you can take a break, breathe and feel peaceful whenever you need to. Here's your mindful moment challenge. This week find a special spot in your home and make it into your own calm space. Add all the things that make you feel safe and happy, then use it whenever you need a moment to relax. Next time on Mindful Moments with Miss Harrison, we'll explore gratitude practice, how focusing on what we're thankful for can bring us more happiness and peace. I can't wait to see you then. Thank you for joining me today. Keep creating, keep relaxing and as always, keep shining. always, keep shining.
