Hello everyone and welcome to Mindful Moments with Miss Harrison. I'm Miss Harrison and I'm so excited to start a brand new series with you. This series is all about resilience, a special skill that helps us bounce back when things don't always go as planned. Resilience is like a superpower that makes us stronger, even when life feels tricky. By the end of this episode you'll know what resilience is and why it's so important.

Let's jump in. Let's start with a question. Have you ever tried something that didn't work out the first time? Maybe you were learning to ride a bike and fell or tried a puzzle that seemed too hard. Resilience is the ability to keep going, even when things are difficult. It's like having a bouncy ball inside of you that helps you bounce back after you fall down. When we're resilient, we don't give up. We try again and grow stronger. Everyone has resilience, and it's a skill we can practice to get better.

Let's hear a story about a girl named Sophie and how she learned about resilience. Sophie loved building towers with blocks. One day she decided to build the tallest tower she had ever made. She stacked block after block and her tower grew higher and higher, but just as she placed the last block, the tower wobbled and fell to the ground. Sophie felt frustrated and wanted to give up but then she remembered something her teacher had said. When things don't work it's a chance to try again and learn. Sophie took a deep breath and looked at her blocks. This time she built a stronger base and stacked her blocks carefully. It took a few tries but eventually Sophie's tower stood tall and strong. She smiled and said, I did it! What do you think Sophie learned about resilience? Sophie's story shows us why resilience is so important. Life doesn't always go as planned and we all face challenges. Resilience helps us learn and grow. Every time we try again we get stronger and learn something new. It also helps us to feel proud, overcoming challenges makes us feel proud of all the things that we have achieved and it also helps us to stay positive. Resilience helps us focus on what we can do instead of what went wrong. The next time something feels hard remember that every try makes you that bit stronger.

Let's practice building our resilience superpower. I'll describe a challenge and you think about how you could bounce back and try again. The first challenge, you're learning to tie your shoes but the knot keeps coming undone. What could you do? Well done. The next challenge. You're playing a game but you don't win the first round. How can you keep trying? And finally, you're drawing a picture and you make a mistake. What could you do to keep going? Great job. Each time you think about trying again you're practicing resilience. You've done an incredible job today learning about resilience. Remember resilience is your ability to bounce back when things don't go as planned. Just like Sophie with her tower, you can grow stronger and learn from every challenge you face. Here's your mindful moment challenge for the week.

The next time you face something tricky, pause and take a deep breath. Remind yourself, I can try again and notice how it feels to keep going. Next time on Mindful Moments with Miss Harrison, we'll talk about learning from mistakes and why mistakes are a wonderful part of growing. I can't wait to see you then.

Thank you for joining me today. Remember, you're already amazing just by trying and growing. Until next time, take care and keep shining. Until next time, take care and keep shining.
