Hello everyone and welcome back to Mindful Moments with Miss Harrison. I'm Miss Harrison and I'm so excited to start a brand new series with you. This series is all about emotions in everyday life and we're kicking things off with mornings. Have you ever noticed how the way you feel in the morning can shape your whole day. When we start the day with a positive mindset it can make everything feel brighter and easier.
Today we'll learn some fun and simple ways to start our mornings off on the right foot. Let's get started. Let's think about mornings for a moment. How do you usually feel when you wake up? Are you excited and ready to go? Or do you feel sleepy and grumpy sometimes? Our morning mood can affect the rest of our day. If we start our morning feeling positive, it's like wearing a bright, happy pair of glasses that help us see good things everywhere. But if we feel stressed or upset in the morning, it's like wearing cloudy glasses that make everything seem harder. The good news is we can choose how we set the tone for our day and today I'll share some tricks to help you create a positive morning mood.
Now let me tell you a story about a girl named Emma and her magical morning routine. Emma used to wake up feeling grumpy every morning. Her little brother would be noisy, she'd forget where her school shoes were and breakfast never seemed all that exciting. But one day Emma's grandma gave her a special secret. Start your day with three magical steps and you'll feel ready to conquer the world. The next morning Emma tried it. First she stretched her arms and smiled as soon as she woke up. Then she said three things she was excited about that day.I get to see my friends, I'll learn something new and I can have my favourite snack after school. Finally, she took three deep breaths and imagined her day going really well. To her surprise, Emma felt lighter and happier all day long. Her morning magic worked. What do you think made Emma's morning feel so magical? Emma's story shows us that a little morning magic can go a long way. Here are three simple steps to try tomorrow morning.
Number one, stretch and smile. As soon as you wake up, stretch your arms wide and smile. It helps your body and mind wake up happily. Number two, think of three positive things before you get out of bed. Say three things you're looking forward to that day. They can be big or small, like seeing a friend, eating something yummy or doing something fun. And number three, take three deep breaths. Breathe in deeply through your nose, and out through your mouth.
Imagine your day going smoothly and happily. These small steps can make a big difference in how you feel. Let's plan your very own morning magic routine. Grab a piece of paper, or just think about it in your head. What's one way you can stretch and move your body in the morning? Great, what's something you're excited about tomorrow? Can you name three things?
Well done and finally how can you make your mornings more calm? Maybe you could listen to a favourite song or just a quiet moment to breathe.
